James “Devin” Sunderwirth, CPA
Devin has been working in tax, audit, and accounting since 2005. He studied accounting at the University of Central Florida where he graduated with his Bachelor’s degree and later obtained a Master of Accounting degree from Nova Southeastern University.
Before joining the Capstone Florida team, Devin worked for large regional tax and audit firms in Orlando and West Palm Beach. In 2015, he started and developed a successful, independent tax and accounting practice with a focus on individuals and small business.
Devin’s approach to tax strategy can be summed up by a quote from the influential federal judge Billings Learned Hand - "Anyone may arrange his affairs so that his taxes shall be as low as possible; he is not bound to choose that pattern which best pays the treasury. There is not even a patriotic duty to increase one's taxes.”
